Dubai Commission Partners With Ubisoft for ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Launch
The Dubai Films and Games Commission (DFGC) hosted a midnight launch event for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced on Thursday, marking the agency's first public event since its inception.
The event, organized in partnership with French video game publisher Ubisoft, was held ahead of the title's global release. It featured interactive gameplay stations, themed cosplay, and franchise trivia.
The collaboration aligns with broader initiatives by the Dubai Media Council, the DFGC's parent organization, to expand the emirate's digital media and creative economy.
"The collaborations we are forging with global industry leaders such as Ubisoft are designed to advance our strategy to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global hub for gaming," said Faisal Kazim, Games Commissioner for the DFGC.
The new title is a complete remake of the 2013 game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, which has registered more than 34 million players globally since its original debut. Developed by Ubisoft Singapore with input from the original creation team, the remake utilizes the publisher's updated Anvil Engine to upgrade visuals and gameplay.
According to Ubisoft, the game has secured more than one million player wishlists across platforms prior to launch. It will be released on the PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC platforms.
"This renewed and faithfully enhanced remake features stunning visuals, upgraded gameplay, and new content," said Gareth Evans, Ubisoft's territory director.
